Awards for those in the early stages of a career in colour

The Colour Group has now extended its scheme of awards to assist those who wish to attend conferences in the fields of art, colour science and colour imaging.  There are two sets of awards, each made in alternate years.

The first award is the WD Wright award  in vision or in colour imaging science which is intended primarily for Post Graduate students and is made in even calender years.  The second award is the Palmer award  intended for both Post Graduate students and Post Doctoral Fellows (or equivalent) and which are made in odd calendar years.  Officers and Committee members of the Colour Group are not eligible for any award.  Each award is valued at about £500.  Applications should be made on the Application Form by the date shown below:

Honours for those distinguished in the study of colour

The Newton Medal The Turner Medal David Palmer 
The Colour Group awards its Newton Medal to a distinguished worker in the field of colour science, on the occasion of his or her delivery of  the Newton Lecture.  More about theNewton Medal and past Newton Lecturers here In alternate years it awards its Turner medal to a distinguished artist or art historian who gives the Turner Lecture to honour Britains greatest colourist.  More about the Medal and past Turner lecturers here. The Colour Group invites a distinguished vision expert to deliver the annual Palmer Lecture in January at its vision meeting.
