PUPIL INFORMATICS: Pupil Response Mechanisms,
Visual Performance & Clinical Applications
Applied Vision Research Centre, City University, London
One day
meeting:
Location: Applied Vision Research Centre, The Henry Wellcome Laboratories for Vision Sciences,
City University, Northampton Square, London, EC1V 0HB. .
Aims: This is an informal event
aimed at discussing the latest research findings in a number of diverse
areas that involve the informatics of
the pupil. The latter is often used to describe the integration of
physics, mathematics, computing and engineering techniques into
neuroscience. Pupil investigations combine diverse techniques and
the measurement of pupil responses have been extended recently to
study the role of melanopsin in vision, photoreceptor interactions, the factors that limit visual performance in the mesopic range (in
relation to aberrations and corneal refractive surgery), the function
of subcortical pathways and the monitoring of photoreceptor stem
cell therapy in retinal cell transplantation studies. We welcome
contributions on any of these topics either in the form of short (~ 15
minutes) oral presentations or posters. Please submit formal abstracts (not exceeding 300 words) to Charlotte Hodge by 31
August. You will also need to register for the meeting by completing and returning the registration form.
